Bitex is a digital asset exchange and custodian.
It provides a regulated, ultra-secure, and insured platform to buy, sell, and store digital assets
Problem
Most cryptocurrency trading platforms are overly complex and often cause confusion for new users. Additionally, the identity verification process is usually time-consuming and complicated.
Goals
We aimed to create a solution that meets user needs by offering an easy-to-use, intuitive platform.

Team
Our design team consisted of three members: a product owner and two designers.
This was a very large and challenging project for me. In this case study, I am showcasing the parts I worked on, following the design guidelines we initially created as a team.
First, we reviewed the documents collected by the product owner. Based on that, we analyzed similar websites in terms of functionality and design, then compiled a list of key insights.

Based on the tasks assigned between me and my colleague, I started the design process with wireframing to structure and lay out the landing page. Using wireframes allowed me to focus on the core layout without getting caught up in visual details. It helped identify potential issues early and enabled faster ideation and testing.
Style Guide
We created a style guide that helped me achieve consistency and maintain cohesive visual interfaces throughout the web.
Login and Sign-up Design
After multiple tests, the design for the login and sign-up process was finalized. Simplicity and user-friendliness were our top priorities, as any complexity could frustrate users and discourage them from continuing.
Landing Page Design
The design of the landing page needed to be simple and engaging. It was crucial that all the features and benefits of the product were clearly communicated to the user, with easily accessible call-to-action buttons placed prominently.
Dashboard Design
The most challenging part for me was designing the dashboards, especially the trading and buy/sell sections. The user should not feel overwhelmed by the vast amount of information. Instead, they should be able to easily navigate their purchases, access their account, and view relevant information without any complexity.
Developer Guidelines
For the convenience of the developers, I categorized and designed all notifications, messages, and error alerts, and created a guideline. This approach helped ensure consistency and cohesion in the design.
As a result, the UI and UX design of the cryptocurrency website has been carefully crafted to create a smooth and intuitive user experience. And for me, it was a great design experience. The modern and minimalist style has been chosen to align with the needs of the crypto community, offering users a simple yet effective way to explore the market, manage their portfolio, and make informed decisions.
The user flow, from logging in with secure authentication methods to navigating the exchange process, has been designed with user convenience and security in mind. Key features, such as adding currencies to a watchlist and viewing detailed market trends, have been integrated to make the user journey more efficient and user-friendly.
The main takeaway from this project was the importance of a user-centered design approach. By constantly gathering feedback and adapting to new trends, future iterations of the website can better meet the needs of cryptocurrency users.
